Redken makes some good shampoos and conditioners that will soften and condition your hair. That's the only brand I'll use on my hair.

wash your hair then sit under the dryer with conditioner in it for about 30 minutes,(deep condition) then use a product called biosilk, by farouk systems! it works wonders
