What helps dry hair?

I have a relaxer in my hair and my hair is also very dry. I was wondering what are some remedies or ideas that i could use that would help this problem.

What helps dry hair?

Aloe Vera,is a good remedy for dry hair. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour and wash it off . Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

What helps dry hair?

I am not African American but I do have very thick, curly and DRY hair and it sucks 'cause I don't even heat style it but I guess people with thick hair like us are prone to dryness. I would try a really good deep conditioner and try using it twice a week. I know Paul Mitchell, Aveda, and Sebastian make them. And I'm sure there are African American hair lines that make them as well. Also, don't use too many products on your hair 'cause so many have alcohol which is sooo drying on anyone's hair! And avoid like straighting or any heat styling. Extensions can be really rough on your hair too! There are home remedies that some people swear by like mayo (Yuck, I know!) and beer (don't drink it though!). The best advice though is to take it easy on your hair if you've been using a lot of products and using curling irons, straightners, and dryers which are SUPER drying even if they claim not to be! Best of luck! I just noticed you use a relaxer, don't use it for a while! Relaxers are horribly drying. My African American friend ruined her hair using relaxers.

What helps dry hair?

Yep, relaxers always dry out hair.

Try spritzing some plain ole water on your hair every day.

This will sound crazy to you but....

wash your hair mid week with a conditioner. Like V05, White Rain, or Sauve since they are cheap. DO NOT USE SHAMPOO. Just conditioner. Do this at least once a week. I know some who do it everyday.

What helps dry hair?

I have not used a relaxer in a long time but I do have very dry hair. Above all what has been helping me is using some Jojoba oil as a leave-in treatment. Looks like it is putting some moisture back in also it make the hair smooth %26amp; without frizzies. I also used some of the tips from site below. Hopefully it will all work.
