First, do not use ANY heat on it for awhile. This means no flat irons, curling irons, blowdryers, etc.

Second, only wash your hair twice a week, and carefully comb it every day. This allows the natural oils in your scalp to be absorbed into your hair, and replenish some of the lost moisture.

Third, get trims every two weeks. This will keep damage under control.

Finally, every other time you wash and condition your hair, leave the conditioner in, apply plastic wrap around your hair, the cover it will a warm towel (one that just came out of the dryer) and leave it for about 5 minutes. This small amount of heat will allow deep conditioning without damage.

I highly recommend Dumb Blonde Conditioner from Tigi and Chocolate Head Repair treatment, also from Tigi.

you could try special conditioners, but i heard that some oils work best. my ssister has the same problem, and she used a salon shampoo, and now her hair is as shiny as ever!

If you're willing to spend a little more on your shampoo than buying them from the store, look online for Chaz Dean's Wen cleansing conditioners. They are sort of like a 2-in-one shampoo/ conditioner. Plus they are all natural and great for your hair. Check out the website for info on the salon and products. I promise you will love them. I've been using them for almost a year now, and have noticed a big difference in the way my hair looks and feels.

i am not sure what kind of hair you have but try greasing your scalp very lightly....part your hair in half horizontal and apply grease to scalp and do the same thing vertically...try using coconut hair grease or something really light.

Mine was like that and I started useing tressame {Spell check} conditioner. And I stopped useing gel so much. Don't rub ur hair with ur towel either. Don't have to spend alot of money on expensive hair prducts.

This is going to sound craxy but the same exact thing happened to my mom and she put olive oil on it every day for a week.... dont rinse out... use a plastic bag..... and it will really help! It got her hair back to being healthy....Good luck! I wish you the best and god bless! also i tried the charles worthington results collection and it was amazing! It helps hair absorb moisture which is what you need... its like 5.99 at walgreens or cvs!

I have the same problem, though I don't think mine is quite as bad. =] Don't worry, there is hope!

First of all, you should get your hair trimmed at least once a month, to avoid split ends. This also helps keep your hair healthy and shiny.

Secondly, you should use a deep condition on your hair, ya know, the kind that comes in the little pot that they charge you way too much for. This condition is said to be applied once a week, buuuuut in the case of extremely dry hair, you should apply it daily as you would a regular conditioner. Leave it on for at LEAST 3 minutes! That is a very important step.

Thirdly, you should avoid blow drying or flat ironing your hair as much as possible. This damages and further fries your hair. If you do have to blow dry or flat iron your hair, you should ALWAYS apply some sort of hair product that protects your hair. I suggest a hair serum.

And lastly, after you wash and towel dry (NEVER rub and scruffle the towel through your hair; always just sqeeze the hair in the towel to get the water out) your hair, you should apply a leave-in conditioner or serum, even if you don't blow dry or flat iron.

I've given you some links below to all of the products I've mentioned and that I also suggest.

I hope this helps!

It really takes a long time if you have bleached your hair. You can check the source for the tips on how to fix dry hair with using your treatment, it takes awhile though.
