My hair is dry and frizzy. What should i do?

Ok, so when i blo-dry my hair, it turns frizzy and poofs up. It's never smooth or lays flat. Right now i'm using sunsilk anti-poof. It hasn't really helped.

I love the new dove hair products. My hair was dry and sorta frizzy but after I use those products its smooth and silky again. I love them.. I use to one for damaged hair in the dark blue bottles. I buy the shampoo, conditioner, intense conditioner treatment and the stuff that come sin the little pump bottle. Also you should let your hair dry natural whenever possible, heat from blow dryers dries your hair out.

when you blow dry it, blow dry your hair upside down. and when you come up, keep blow drying it, but have a comb in your hair to make it straight and not so poofy!

Try a mousterising shampoo and/or conditioner, that helped me! and if your hair feels REALLY DRY stop using the conditioner your using.

Use Frizz-Ease Hair Serum by Michael Frida.

I would also suggest to towel dry your hair instead of blow drying . It can damage your hair.

It hasnt really helped because it's not professional. Never use anything from a drug store for your hair. Go to a salon, get a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and get some serum to put in before and after drying, try to let hair air dry as much as possible, try paul mitchell serum its the best in the market! also invest in a professonal ceramic flat iron, you dont need to use it everyday. After you shower use a wide tooth comb instead of a brush to comb out your hair. Your hair is at its weakest when its wet. Please take my advice it will help you alot, if you have any more questions e mail me at Melissa_hairqueen@yahoo.ca. Good luck.

Hair drying with a hair dryer can cause the hair to get dry. Try and dry it naturally just by letting the air dry it. Heat can make the hair dry out. Heat meaning... sun, hair dryer, straighteners, and curlers. Sometimes air drying doesnt make the hair so puffy. Use conditioner on the ends. Try some products that should be used before blow-drying the hair. Moose, or some anti-friz cream like Garnier Fructis Style smoothing milk.

I have the same EXACT problem! I use SunSilk Straighten-Up shampoo (in the purple bottle), the Straighten-Up conditioner and the Straighten-Up Creme. But, before you use the creme, make sure you towel dry your hair a bit first...you don't want to apply it to soaking wet hair. Apply a good bit...it doesn't make your hair look oily at all so, don't be shy! Then blow dry your hair using a brush to straighten as your blow dry. Follow up with a flat iron and POOF...no more frizz!! (The SunSilk anit-poof does NOT work as well as the straighten-up). Also, about twice a week I use a small amount of coconut oil to re-hydrate from all the blow-drying! My hair has never looked better...honestly!!

Good luck!!

My hair is dry and frizzy. What should i do?

well it depends on a few things:

1: of you hair is straight than don't blow it dry if you don't have to use a diffuser if you can instead and my other thing is use a hair straightener iron they are only like 15.00 to 20.00 at walmart

(I have straight hair)

2; if you have curly hair use the diffuser as well but but a mousse in your hair first and sort of scrunch it up with you hands never never do the upside down thing this will make it poofy

I watch alot of what not to wear on TLC the part with the hair dresser is the best

if your not sure what a diffuser is its like blow dryer but has a different ending on it kind mildly dries your hair with out flinging it allover leaves it still

hope this helps

one more thing bed head had awesome products

Make sure you use a good conditioner, like Paul Mitchell, Bed Head, etc.--i.e. things you would buy at a salon, as opposed to crap like Suave or White Rain. If you have dry hair, a leave-in conditioner once a week could also be a good bet.

It might help if you wash your hair at night, as opposed to in the morning, b/c it will give your hair time to replenish its natural oils and lay a bit flatter, less fly-aways, etc.

Also, depending on your haircut/style, products like pomade or serums can help. I like Bed Head's "Control Freak" serum--you put a dime sized dab of it in the palm of your hand, rub it with both hands, then put it on your hair (before or after styling, it doesn't matter). It makes my hair shiner and it seriously reduces frizz and fly-aways.

A flat iron can make up where a blow dryer falls short. Get a straightening iron (Chi, Helen of Troy, Conair all make them). Ceramic irons are better for your hair (less damage) but they cost significantly more than the metal ones. A flat iron will make your hair a lot straighter than a hair drier alone, b/c it really irons the hair like, well, an iron. It's less damaging to your hair if you let your hair air dry the night before and then just flat iron it in the morning. Even blow drying it the night before and flat ironing in the morning is better for it than doing one right after the other. The more moisture that is in your hair when you iron it, the more damage you'll do to your hair. (Hearing sizzles and/or seeing steam when you're ironing is not a good sign). That means weaker follicles, more breakage, less shine, and more split ends.

Your hair might also just be super thick. Check with your sylist--layering your hair might help it. Some of my friends with really thick hair have gotten it layered from the bottom up, just to thin it out, so it's more manageable. But try changing your hair products first before you crop your locks.
