I have really frizzy poofy wavy/curly hair- I usually straighten it but it seems to be rough on my hair and I want to try blow drying it straight- but i can't! how do you do it?!
I can't blow dry my hair straight!?
Get a large round brush and seperate your hair after you get out of the shower. Tie some up into layers, or if you have layers work with those. take the large round brush and start up at the top of the layer that's underneath the rest. Turn on the blow dryer and run the brush through slowly while blow drying. Keep a nice amount of strain on it because that's what makes it straight. Kepp running through and continue, it is hard to do by yourself so I would suggest having someone help till you get good at it, especially in the back. I also reccomend putting in a protective product or something before hand so your hair doesn't get damaged. Also use the product when straightening as well. BTW buying a connector thing(not a diffuser that makes hair curly) also helps straighten(as it was made for straightening) and if you do it right it shouldn't turn out frizzy.

You'll get advice telling you to use a wide rolled brush and to get a hair dryer with the focus nozzle on the end. I've never gotten it to work. If your hair is crazy like mine (looks like you stuck it a light socket after you try to straighten it), the only thing that worked for me was a ceramic straightener. I got the "true-ceramic pro" for my birthday, a few years ago. Best gift I have ever gotten. I put the hair straightening spray on before I use it, make sure your hair is bone dry, and do small sections at a time. It will last until the next time you get your hair wet. Use a leave in conditioner, and it will help protect your hair.

try like a de-frizz spray while its wet and then start on a low setting using a paddle brush. have the blow drier go from your scalp to your roots and brush your hair from underneath the hair w/ the drier on top. good luck =]

I have the same problem. I have naturally curly hair that is very thick and tight. I tried thousands of times and if u really want your hair to be strait you have to use the flat iron. By using a blow drier it just makes your hair frizzier. Even if you buy the diffuser attachment it still can become frizzy. I tip for the flat iron would be to buy a product to spray on your hair before you straighten it to protect your hair from heat damage.

I have the same trouble. Yuck! It is so frustrating. I also quit using chemical straighteners and I hate the products they have available to put on wet hair before and after you dry it. Leaves a nasty film look.
I have found a product made by Remington called 'Wet 2 Straight'. Here is a link to see what it looks like . http://www.stylewithremington.com/wet2st...
I have seen them sold at Target, Walmart at a good price. Around $25.00. For me it was worth 10x that. I have the one with the 2 inch plate.
I normally use a 'Paddle brush' and my blow dryer to slightly dry my hair. You can use the 'Wet 2 Straight' on wet hair but I use it on damp hair. Simply section the hair and run it down. Sometimes it takes 2 passes. Then finish with a curling iron.
It will take you a couple of times to feel comfortable with it. But once you are it goes very quickly. There is also a variable temperature control that goes from Wet to Dry depending on how damp your hair is.
I also use it for touch-ups, like after it rains or after a shower.
Another option is pay to have a hairdresser show you how to straighten yours with the blow dryer. Just go get your hair cut and tell them you need some instruction. They are normally very nice about it and have many helpful hints.

I'm not exactly sure about the blowdrying but if you're going to straighten your hair everyday with an iron buy a ceramic hair straightener, it damages your hair less.
