My hair is very dry and I'm looking for shampoo and conditioner that has intense moisture. This needs to be available at Wal-Mart, I cannot afford the salon stuff. I once or twice a week straight iron my hair. I've stopped washing it daily hoping that would help a little, sadly it hasn't. Any one out there know of a good store bought product that will help?

as a hair stylist, i don't recommend using walmart stuff, but when that's what's in the budget you have to make the best. go for the tresseme line of products. look for anything that is for dry hair or to add moisture. tresseme started out in a salon years ago, then went to over the counter. whatever you do stay away from pantene. it has wax in it and will over time leave, a wax residue on you hair. don't stop washing your hair, it will just end up greasy. also try getting a heat protector or thermal spray for your hair if you are going to use the straight iron. if none of this works you might consider trying the salon stuff. i know it gets pricey, but it really does work. Paul Mitchell's intense moisture line does amazing thing for dry hair. just remember whether it walmart or salon, nothing works over night.....it's gonna take time no matter what you use. hope this helps.

If you use any styling things then I reccommend you use some type of thermal protector!
OR just buy head and shoulders.

Use a moisture shampoo %26amp; a moisture conditioner every time you shampoo.Get a moisture leave in conditioner. Get a heavy rescontruter and condition at least once ever 2 weeks. Get your hair trimmed about every 6 to 8 weeks. Make sure when you use your stright iron your hair is completely dry. If it is not you are drying your hair that way and breaking it down. Salon products can be expensive but they last a long time and well worth the money. Most people use way too much for a single application.
Good Luck

This might sound a little odd at first, but if you are serious about helping your hair try this. Take 1 part conditioner, the cheaper stuff like Suave and VO5 actually works better, btw. 1/4 part clear aloe gel, not the colored stuff used to treat sunburns, and 1/4 part honey. Mix this all together and put it in the microwave for no more than 10 seconds. Slap this on your dry hair, cover with cap or plastic bag, and rinse it out half an hour later. This is called Snowy's Moisture Treatment. I found it on a hair forum, and it has done wonders for me. Don't be afraid of putting honey on your hair, it will NOT make it sticky, but make it soft and easier to manage.

wash ur hair towel dry put conditioner on ur hair pretty thick put a shower cap on ur head (1.00) at walmart leave this on head for a couple of hours. the heat from ur head is fine or put a hairdryer to the cap for a few minutes. rinse ur hair as normal and ur ready to go. do this as often as u like it will improve the health of ur hair. i straighten my hair everyday and this keeps it soft and healthy. goood luck.
