Use a deep moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I like Nexxus Therappe Shampoo and Humectress Conditioner. They are really good to moisturize your hair and scalp. I love them. And once you get your hair healthy, you don't need to use them every shower, just like once a week. I have really healthy hair and I maintain it with pantene for most showers. I only use the Nexxus once a week.

I would recommend Nizoral shampoo-the kind you can buy over the counter. I have used it before for the same problem. Just use it every day until the flakiness is resolved, then use it only every 3-4 days and use your regular shampoo all other days. It really has worked for me!

Try head and shoulders they have special kinds for extra dry scalps and intensive care. I would recommend using that brand over any other just from experience (i had the same problem at one point however my hair was not dried out). The shampoo shouldn't dry out your hair but if your hair doesn't get better you should try using a deep conditioner --just on the ends of your hair (don't get any on your scalp). If none of these things work you should see a doctor maybe they could prescribe something.
